About Druid
Druid is a project to educate others on stormwater management in Florida. Unlike other parts of the world, Florida has a long history of community engagement with stormwater issues. Hurricanes, flooding, and harmful algal blooms are some examples of issues that are commonly in the public discourse. Most people don’t have to walk far from their home to see a water feature that could be adversely impacted by stormwater runoff. We hope this project will be beneficial to you whether you’re a concerned citizen, a civil engineer, an academic, or a policy maker.

Our Blog is where you can find posts on various stormwater-related topics. Most are educational in nature and range in topics from the basics of stormwater to the history of regulations to key technology used today in managing stormwater.
Case Studies will focus on specific technical applications or projects, such as a wet detention pond or a green roof. These case studies will get into detail on how they are designed and how they fit into the regulatory landscape.
Finally, our Maps page will include helpful spatial information in a format that is easy to view. Eventually, there will be maps for things such as your FEMA Flood Zone, the impairment of your waterbody, or the applicability of your soil type for certain rain gardens. This is a work-in-progress, currently.
